Murla. Alicante town by town
After the disappearance of the cultivation of the muscat grape that once covered almost the entire term, the almond and orange trees have prevailed in this small town of Murla.
Tourism in Murla
Our history
Murla has its origin in a medieval alqueria from the Muslim period that grows around the Pop fortress (current parochial temple), whose antiquity very possibly dates back to the 11th century, in the absence of archaeological finds from the subsoil that determined an earlier time. Dominating the access to the Pop Valley, it served as the capital of it, being the only nucleus of old Christians in the region until it reached the nearby towns of Benissa and Denia.
